Kryoneri for the easiest swim from town
Kryoneri is the town beach you use when the day still belongs to the old town, the harbor and the castle view. It is the easiest water move when you do not want to turn the whole day into a beach transfer.
Parga works better once you split the easy town-water from the proper beach-day moves. Kryoneri and Piso Kryoneri belong to the walkable core. Valtos is the first full beach. Lichnos and Sarakiniko are longer decisions that deserve their own rhythm.
Kryoneri is the town beach you use when the day still belongs to the old town, the harbor and the castle view. It is the easiest water move when you do not want to turn the whole day into a beach transfer.
Piso Kryoneri works better as a smaller follow-up cove than as an all-day plan. It belongs to the same town-side logic, just with a quieter, more tucked-away feel.
Valtos is the big beach move that still stays close to Parga. It makes sense when the whole day is built around swimming, sunbeds, lunch and a return into town later, not when you only want a quick dip. If you are with children, Tango is one of the easier Valtos stops for coffee, pool time and a softer midday break.
Lichnos is the cleaner choice when you want a larger bay and a more separated beach session from the town core. Treat it as a proper southbound day, whether you go by road or by boat, especially if the stay itself is built around Lichnos Beach Hotel and the bay is meant to carry the day until evening.
Sarakiniko is not a casual add-on after the castle and harbor. Use it on the day that already belongs to Anthousa, the outer coast or a quieter car-based plan. In season, you can usually find daily boats from Parga, while the road approach comes a little after Anthousa. If that side is already your route, it pairs more naturally with a cold beer and fish meze stop at Koursaros above the beach than with a rushed return to town.
The practical mistake in Parga is trying to fit Kryoneri, Valtos, Lichnos and Sarakiniko into the same plan. The map becomes easier once you keep the town beaches, Valtos, and the outer-coast beaches in separate layers.
Parga becomes easier when the beach plan follows the shape of the coast instead of the list of famous names.
